Wednesday, February 28th

Hey Everyone!

Today we started with our journal, vocabulary and grammar >> grammar-2-28.

Then, we started reading “Night.” If you need the “Night” text, click HERE. Books will be provided but we only have one class set, so you will need to utilize this online book if you need to finish work at home!

We will have questions for each chapter and quizzes for every 2 chapters. Here are the questions for chapter 1 >>  chapter-1-activities-night. If we finish chapters 1 and 2 tomorrow, then we will have a quiz over 1 and 2 tomorrow.

We also worked on “No Red Ink” >> 10th Literature Progress Chart Week 4,5,6 NRI. These will be due next Wednesday. 

We will have a vocabulary quiz on Friday. 

Tuesday, February 27th

Hey Everyone!

Today we started with our journal, vocabulary, and grammar >> grammar-2-27 .

Then, we started with this anticipation guide >>  anticipation-guide-night .

After, we introduced “Night” with this PowerPoint >>  nightintronotes  and notes >> NIGHTIntroNotesNotes.

Monday, February 26th

Hey Everyone!

Today we started with our journal, grammar>> pre-writing-prompt #2 and vocabulary.

We also worked on 30 minutes of remediation for the “Cultural Identity” test that we took the Friday before break! Conole had the Jeopardy game for extension>> click HERE . 

Then, I had the students who made B’s (during 3rd) and C’s (during 4th) for repetition with cultural identity>> funny in farsi and-cultural-identity remediation middle ground. During 3rd, Ms. Oliveira and Brink had the students who made C’s or below and during 4th, Mrs. Simonds had the students who made D’s or below.

After, we worked on “No Red Ink” >> 10th Literature Progress Chart Week 4,5,6 NRI

Friday, February 16th

Hey Everyone!

It’s Friday before break – you made it!!

We started with our journal and grammar >> Post-Writing Prompt.

Then, we took our “Cultural Identity” test !!

After, we worked on “No Red Ink.”

Please make sure to turn in any missing work – grades have been submitted the Monday after break. You will receive your progress report the Friday after break.

Hey Everyone!

Today we started with our journal, vocabulary review, vocab. quiz, and grammar >> grammar-2-15

Then, we did a quick review for our TEST tomorrow >> click HERE. 

After, we continued to work on our final story for the unit  – “Everyday Use!” Here are the notes and PPT >>Everyday Use 2018 PPT  and Everyday Use 2018.

We also worked on “No Red Ink” in class.

Here is a study guide for the test tomorrow >> Study Guide for Cultural Identity Test Spring 2018.  Completion will be bonus for the test !

Happy Valentine’s Day! We started with our journal, vocabulary (sentence check part 2), and grammar >>grammar-2-14 (1)

We also played a Kahoot >> Click HERE. 

After, we worked on our final story for the unit  – “Everyday Use!” Here are the notes and PPT >>Everyday Use 2018 PPT  and Everyday Use 2018.

We also worked on “No Red Ink” in class.

Here is a study guide for the test on Friday >> Study Guide for Cultural Identity Test Spring 2018.  Our Vocabulary quiz is Thursday (tomorrow). 

The questions for “Everyday Use” are due tomorrow (along with your vocabulary quiz). 

Tuesday, February 13th

Hey Everyone!

Today we started with our journal, vocabulary – sentence check part 1, and grammar >> grammar-2-13.

We also did one of our Kahoots- click HERE. 

Then, we turned in our comic strips! YAY!

After, we started a new story, “If You Are What You Eat” >> From If You Are What You Eat with this PPT >> Geeta Kothari. 

We wrote a narrative>> Narrative Writing Springboard

Friday, February 9th

Hey Everyone!

Today we started with our journal and vocabulary quiz.

Then, we worked on our “Persepolis” questions (from yesterday).

After, we worked on creating our own comics >> Graphic Novel .

We used this template to create our own template.

After, we worked on “No Red Ink.”

We will finish these questions after our quiz tomorrow. Please study for our vocabulary quiz tomorrow! If you write “lemon” on the quiz, you get bonus points!
