After, we were able to watch some of the interpretations of “The Monkey’s Paw” and we will finish this tomorrow. Here is the sheet where we were film critics!  >> comparing film Monkeys paw.

Thursday, January 26th

Hello!

We started with journal and vocabulary >> vocab-e-2a-cs-2nd .

Then, I gave everyone 10 minutes to finish annotating the story, and we took it for a grade.

Then, we re-read the “Monkey’s Paw” in class >>The_Monkey’s_Paw (1) and we started the questions>> The Monkey’s Paw Questions

The questions are due by tomorrow for “Monkey’s Paw” ^^. 

Next, we worked on these assignments. I will be giving everyone time tomorrow to finish these assignments as well as the weekend. The directions are on each page (2 pages total). One assignment deals with creating a new symbol (instead of the monkey’s paw) and then acting as a director and planning the dynamics of a “Monkey’s Paw”  movie! This is due tomorrow, but as I said, there will be given a couple of minutes to finish up >> Monkey’s Paw AssignmentThis is due by Monday.

Then, our “inspirational video” .

In 4th, we finished the “The Monkey’s Paw” PowerPoint and notes >> H. Thomas Monkeys Paw Notes and H. Thomas Monkeys Paw.

Then, we read the “Monkey’s Paw” in class >>The_Monkey’s_Paw (1) aloud and then we started annotating it >> annotation-rules.

1st – You will have 10 minutes to finish annotating the story in class tomorrow .

Tuesday, January 24th

Hello Everyone!

Today we started with journal and vocabulary >> vocab-e-2a-def-syn-ant .

Then, we finished our writing diagnostic >> figurative-memories-writing-diagnostic .

After, we took a figurative language pre-test >> figurative-language-pretest just to see where we are in our knowledge.

Then, we introduced a new story- “The Monkey’s Paw” with this PowerPoint and notes >> H. Thomas Monkeys Paw Notes and H. Thomas Monkeys Paw.

We started reading the story here >> The_Monkey’s_Paw (1) and annotating it (adding comments, questions, figurative devices, etc.) by using these annotation-rules.

Don’t forget that vocabulary sentences are due Thursday and our vocabulary quiz is Friday.

Today we started with journal and vocabulary quiz.

After, students had time to finish “A Secret for Two” >> Click HERE . Then, we completed this assignment fully >> A Secret For Two Assignment new.

Hey Everyone!

Today we started with journal and vocabulary >> vocab-e-1-cs-all and vocab-e-1b-cs .

We took one of them for a grade.

Then, I checked the annotations (the homework) as a grade and we also read this story aloud (Click HERE). Then, we completed this assignment >> A Secret For Two Assignment new.

Don’t forget that we have a vocabulary quiz tomorrow  and a fact/fiction quiz on Monday!

We will be having a quiz on Monday  over the Fiction vs. Nonfiction PPT (above).

Hey Everyone!

Before anything, we had a fire drill !

Today, we started with journal and vocabulary (the 2nd 10 words) >> unit-1-e-ppt.

Then, we finished presenting our 6 word memoir and  they were graded with this rubric >> six-word-memoir-rubric .

Then, we started looking at Non Fiction and Fiction with this PowerPoint >> Fiction vs. Nonfiction with these notes >> Fiction Nonfiction Notes . We even looked at a fun introduction >> Pokemon Vs. Prescription Drugs (Fact vs. Fiction).

We will finish the PPT tomorrow.

Vocabulary sentences are due THIS Thursday. Use any 5 of the 10 words in a sentence!
